“FALL RECYCLING”

“There is something so special in the early leaves drifting from the trees–as if we are all to be allowed a chance to peel, to refresh, to start again.”– Ruth Ahmed

The aim of the workshop is to prepare for a fresh start for next sessions.

Using art therapy methods we will reflect on which “leaves” we would like to keep for next year and which we would like to bid farewell to. Realizing what resources we have and what is distracting us from using them is the first step in a growth process.

For whom?

Migrants, Refugees, Repatriates, Expats or anyone who seeks more comfort in life, wants to find a way to deal with a new environment, would like to meet others who seek support.

You don’t need any experience or talent for painting etc. There will be various techniques of artistic creation to choose from.

If you would like to stop for a moment and express your emotions through movement, sounds or transfer them onto a piece of paper, or if you are looking for inspiration on how to strengthen your psychological and psychosociological resilience then this group is for YOU!

When & where?

20th of November from 2:30 p.m. till 5:00 p.m.
at the Volunteer Centre of the University of th Warsaw, Library Building
Dobra Street 56/66 Warsaw

By who?

Workshop will be led by art therapists: Aleksandra Passendorfer and Urszula Rymarowicz.

ALEKSANDRA PASSENDORFER – a board member of SIETAR POLSKA and coordinator of ART THERAPY Group whose mission is to share the experience gained, working as a social psychologist, trainer, psychotherapist. For 11 years, she has been creating and conducting original training on interpersonal competencies, specializing in intercultural communication. As a trainer of the International Organization for Migration, she implemented projects for migrants. She inspires creativity in the field of shaping and creative use of human potential. She is curious about people and the constantly changing world. Her passion is painting the things she has seen and experienced while travelling and meeting people from around the world.

URSZULA RYMAROWICZ – an architect, art therapist, and culture animator. Involved in the subject of interculturalism and exclusion due to cultural differences. She organized culture animation during six-month volunteer work in Armenia and a monthly project in Georgia. She conducted a series of art therapy workshops for women at the Center for Foreigners in Warsaw and in Fundacja Ocalenie in Warsaw. She is particularly close to working with images, movements, and stories that are intertwined and complement each other. She gained experience during the art therapy course organized by Centrum Łowicka, during the dance and movement therapy course at the DMT Institute and Mindfulness Based Living Course. A student of Process Oriented Psychology, a holistic psychotherapeutic approach that suggests unconscious material can be experienced physically, interpersonally, or environmentally.

The aim of the ART THERAPY Group is to help build migrants’ resilience during VUCA Times. VOLATILITY, UNCERTAINTY, COMPLEXITY, AMBIGUITY; these are the qualities we will focus on, defining and recognizing them in ourselves and trying to disarm them by finding the best way to constructively experience these difficult and ubiquitous emotional states.
