SIETAR Polska invites you to play the diversophy® game about Ukraine.
diversophy® is a game-based activity created by Dr. George Simons. It is a series of games designed for trainers and educators to teach people how to interact with different cultures.
This session is organised by Dr. Lidia Wiśniewska, president of SIETAR Polska with suport of Victoria Spashchenko.
During our session we will be in small breakout rooms with excellent specialists in Ukrainian culture (natives): Victoria Spashchenco, Oksana Hera, Olga Collin and the author of the game – Elena Shliakhovchyk, among others.
Let’s talk about Ukrainian cultural aspects that can bring us together by knowing and reflecting on our own culture as well.
Have you ever asked yourself:
- What do you talk about to break the ice with a Ukrainian colleague?
- What is the Ukrainian management style?
- Should we talk about the war with Ukrainians or not? If so, how to do it?
- What is the everyday language spoken in Ukraine?
- What does “no” mean in Ukrainian culture and relationships?
- Who is the “Ukrainian Socrates”/does one exist?
These and many other aspects will be touched upon and discussed.
Join us to learn more about Ukrainian and your own culture through self-reflection. Conversations will help us to understand the answers in the context. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions and reflect on your own culture and share your insights with colleagues in the group.

Elena Shliakhovchyk PhD, is an expert with 15 years of experience in cross-cultural communication, specializing in high-visibility programs that empower individuals and organizations to navigate diverse cultural environments. Author of diversophy®Ukraine, Cultural Detective®Ukraine, CultureConnector Ukraine.
Victoria Spashchenko, is the author of Ukrainian translation of this game. Cross-Cultural expert, couch, consultant, facilitator, interculturalist. Board Member of SIETAR Europa (2019-2024) represents Europeans Direct Members. Mentor of Young SIETAR. Solution-Focused practitioner, keynote speaker, and author of practical guides on how to solve problems without discussing them.
Oksana Hera – trainer and consultant in the areas of cross-cultural communication and business English from Lviv, Ukraine. She holds an MA (Hons) in Linguistics and Translation Studies, Cert IBET, and a Business Cultural Trainer’s Certificate among others. She helps professionals enhance their communication in local and global teams.
Olga Collin –With over 20 years of experience in the intercultural field, Olga Collin is a seasoned intercultural trainer, coach and professional expat who shares her first-hand experience of moving countries, lifestyles and cultures with globally mobile professionals in the effort to normalize change and promote cross-cultural understanding. Olga worked for 6 years in Germany, the UK and Italy and currently resides and works in the United States. Her training career spans both private and public sectors in a variety of areas including manufacturing, consumer products, engineering, marketing and education. She co-authored Cultural Detective Ukraine.
