Why TCKs (Third Culture Kids) Matter Today

Families move. Careers move. Cultures intersect. New forms of belonging emerge. Growing up in this context is reshaping childhoods, identities and working lives across Europe and around the world.
Traditionally, the term Third Culture Kid (TCK) has been used to describe young people who spend part of their developmental years moving temporarily between cultures and countries. Today, the term is often used more broadly by people who grow up influenced by more than one culture.
As mobility, migration, intercultural relationships and global careers become increasingly common, these experiences are becoming more relevant to families, schools, workplaces and communities.
This series offers a space to explore these experiences together through dialogue, reflection and shared learning.

Speaker: Cynthia Green is a writer, speaker and researcher exploring how cultural influences shape identity across the life course and across generations. Her current work explores multigenerational plural-culturality and the experience of living simultaneously with plural cultures throughout life and across generations.
