“If I Moved There…” Travellers’ Club meetup #4. May 14, at 3 p.m. CET.
Relocating to Nepal with Hana Bui
“I travel because I’m drawn to the rawness of direct experience. No matter how much I read or watch about a place, my experience will always be unique and different in some ways from other people’s work. I love that I can see the world through my own lens, especially a cross-cultural lens, as I am an intercultural trainer and author.
I will take you to green Lumbini – the birthplace of Buddha, the blue-sky Pokhara – a must-have first step for anyone who wants to conquer the Himalayas, and finally to busy capital Kathmandu, where Buddhism and Hinduism coexist and blend peacefully,” says Hana.
“If I Moved There…” Travelers’ Club is 1 hour online interactive exchange to explore cultural experiences through the lens of personal travel, professional reflection, and imaginative relocation.
15 minutes of the presenter’s travel story, followed by discussions in breakout rooms to consider participants’ imaginative relocation to the featured country.
• What would excite or challenge them?
• What adaptations might be needed – professionally, socially, emotionally?
• What values or habits might shift?
Finally, we’ll have a professional exchange when interculturalists reflect on the traveller’s story, ask questions, and share insights that arise from an intercultural perspective.
You should not necessarily be an intercultural professional to attend!
