diversIDENTITY is a newly developed game in the diversophy® series of intercultural competence games. It is designed for secondary teachers, academic professionals, organizational trainers and community groups and services and is publicly available. This workshop session at SIETAR Polska will constitute a formal launch of the game for intercultural professionals and other interested participants and be delivered by experienced members of the developing organization. diversIDENTITY provides an interactive platform for exploring and discussing the nature of identity on both personal and professional levels. It directly addresses how identity is socially and genetically created and how it develops and mutates culturally. It explores the dynamics and consequences of multiple identities and self-concepts for behavior, health and well-being. It addresses the impact of identity as well on societal relationships involving national, ethnic, class, racial, gender, political and interpersonal dynamics from diverse perspectives. The game is solidly based on current intercultural, sociological, psychological and neuroscientific research and findings. After a brief introduction to the purposes of the game and procedures of playing in groups, participants will be divided into smaller groups using virtual breakout rooms where they will be invited to play the game together taking turns in responding to the question and challenges that the game poses. There each group will be assisted and guided by a trained facilitator who is familiar with both the content and dynamics of the game. The play session will conclude with a debrief, feedback as well as a question-and-answer session and an invitation to participants to suggest content and other ideas for the ongoing development of the game, which is conceived as an open-ended work in progress responsive to changes in cultural metanarratives over time.
