Have you seen the video title “Uncle Roger HATE Jamie Oliver Egg Fried Rice” on youtube channel? Or read the article from Deutsche Welle “ Kimchi: Koreans angry over attempted Chinese takeover”? Besides those public arguments regarding “who is more authentic” about food, I also observed that more people share/sell their homemade food on social media platforms. Most interesting things are those comments on questioning how people can change the traditional recipes from other cultures. In my topic which brings to all of us, I will present and discuss how do we link identity with food and possess it as sacred parts of our cultures.

Kuang-Yi Chao is a global citizen from Taiwan but lives in Poland. He made his life a real cross cultural adventure here. In the last few years, he has been the member of several cross cultural dialogue projects, lecturer in university class and language teacher. He always finds the traces of cultural differences in every conflict, sometimes they are buried deeper than we could imagine.
